Monaco was recently the focus of the fashion industry: from the 6th to the 8th of July 2015, the Monaco Fashion Show took place in the Principality of Monaco and transformed the Principality into an international fashion temple for three days. The show, staged in the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco, previewed next year’s Spring-Summer collections. Monaco real estate company, La Costa Properties Monaco reports on the event.
This third edition of the Monaco Fashion Week, hosted by the Monegasque Fashion Chamber with the support of local institutions, aimed to promote new international talents within the fashion industry. The event gave them the opportunity to be in the limelight showcasing their collections in front of multinational brands, VIP customers and celebrities alike. This year, special emphasis was put on Russian designers and couturiers as Monaco celebrates the Russian Year.
The event provided a first glimpse of the Spring/Summer 2016 haute couture collections of three different categories: “Swimwear – SwiMonteCarlo Universe”, “Young Designers Universe” and “Couture Universe”. International designers, established names and newcomers alike (including some Monegasques), introduced their collections and were able to take part in the “Accessories Universe” showroom.
The opening show by the Russian designer Chapurin was one of the highlights of this year’s Monaco Fashion Week. Other notable designers present at the fashion show included the swimwear designer brand Banana Moon, the local fashion brand Beach & Cashmere Monaco, the French company Beliza, the Uzbek fashion brand LALI, and the fur and leather creator Carlo Ramello.
The creations on the catwalks were as diverse as the nationalities of their designers. Each brand brought different emotions and sensations to the runway, spanning from contemporary dramatic tendencies to the more traditional and reserved styles. This pleasant mix of creativity and designs, in combination with the Monegasque lifestyle, created a truly unique atmosphere.
