Monaco is as renowned for its boutique shops as it is for the superyacht-lined port and string of exclusive hotels. If you are looking for property to rent in Monaco, then you surely need to know where the best boutiques are.
So for our clients searching for that perfect Monaco apartment, we have put together a short guide to steer them towards the main shopping areas for a spot of retail therapy after signing on the dotted line.
The most exclusive of Monaco’s upmarket boutiques are centered around the Hotel de Paris and the casino, lining the streets which climb to the Hotel Hermitage, a stone’s throw from our most exclusive property to rent in Monaco.
This prestigious area is called Monte Carlo’s Carré d’Or where you will find the likes of Dior, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Prada and much, much more.
If you are looking for slightly less exclusive brands, head to the Metropole Shopping Centre, which is situated on a charming street opposite the Casino gardens and surrounded by great lunch stops when you can shop no more.
Here you will find more than 80 boutiques including FNAC, a fantastic French brand which sells books, CDS, DVDs and all sorts of electronic goods and gadgets. There are also a number of designer shops such as Kenzo and Tommy Hilfiger as well as high end jewelers Swarovski, exclusive kitchenware brand Segraeti and Spar Royal Food, a gourmet grocery store.
Another area close to some of our more central Monaco apartments is rue Princesse-Caroline, a pedestrian thoroughfare with lots of quirky looking shops, boulangeries and cafes.
Nearby is Monaco’s famous Formule 1 shop, in rue Grimaldi, where you can find everything from racing helmets to key rings illustrated with images of the Monaco Grand Prix all year round.
For fruit and vegetables head to the Place d’Armes where there is a daily market; a hive of activity from 7.30am and a wonderful place to come and sit, and watch the word go by. There are a number of cafes surrounding the indoor and outdoor market and the buzz of the morning market is infectious.
