For a sovereign city-state no larger than your average French town, the variety of cultural attractions on offer in Monaco throughout the year is huge.
Take the Sporting Summer Festival, for example. This glamorous event which runs for six weeks in July and August is one of the premier music festivals in Europe with a following of loyal supporters who come year in, year out to hear their favorite musicians perform.
The festival, held in the superb Salle des Etoiles which lies next to the exclusive Monte Carlo Bay Hotel and Resort and close to some of our premier property in Monaco, has been drawing some of the best international performers since it started up more than 30 years ago.
And having seen this year’s program, we at La Costa Properties Monaco – experts in Monaco apartment rentals – believe the line-up for the 2013 Sporting Summer Festival will not disappoint. In a series of brilliant concerts from July 6th to August 19th some of the world’s biggest names such as Rhianna, Mika and Bryan Ferry will perform in sensational shows just a stone’s throw from our more central property in Monaco.
The first star to step up on the stage in the Salle des Etoiles, a magnificent venue with a removable roof so that those in Monaco apartments nearby can also hear the music, will be legendary British rocker Rod Stewart, who will play for two nights on July 6th and 7th.
One of the world’s largest selling female artists – Rhianna will perform on July 11th while Sir Elton John is due to appear on July 24th. Other performers include The Spirit of the Dance, Deep Purple, Elvis Costello and Michael Bolton.
For those who choose, the evening begins at 20.30 with a sumptuous three-course dinner with exclusive wines which can be enjoyed whilst listening to the live bands. Or alternatively just come along for the music – and a dance.
