Monaco is undoubtedly the world’s most glamorous yachting hub and for four magnificent days in autumn it hosts 125 unique superyachts. One of the most highly-anticipated events on the yachting calendar, the Monaco Yacht Show will take place from 28th September to 1st October. It provides a wonderful close to the Mediterranean yachting season.
What Can You See at MYS?
The Monaco Yacht Show 2016 will host 580 exhibitors from 38 countries displaying not just yachts, but everything related to the yachting industry and luxury lifestyle. This year, the prestigious event is introducing a brand new exhibition space dedicated exclusively to luxury automobiles called ‘Car Deck’. Exhibitors from the peripheral luxury sectors will showcase everything from accessories to helicopters.
However, it is the yachts that everyone really wants to see. More than 34,000 visitors descend upon the iconic city-state of Monaco each year to attend the MYS and see the finest luxury yachts in the world. They are not disappointed. The yachts range in size from 25 to 100 metres long, but a number of ultra-exclusive megayachts are nearer the high-end of the scale. This year, 40 new launches will be unveiled in Monaco’s Port Hercules. Additionally, 40 tenders and water toys are displayed at the two exhibition areas of Monte Carlo Tender Show and the Water Toy Show.
New launches include the Gulf Craft’s European debut of its 47m M/Y MAJESTY 155, the largest of its range. Columbus Yachts will premiere its 40m three-deck aluminium superyacht M/Y DIVINE at the scenic Quai des Etats-Unis. With its stunning interiors and high power performance, Divine is sure to receive a lot of attention. Baglietto will display two yachts: the 46m M/Y FAST and 53m M/Y UNICORN, which demonstrates the discernible style that has made the Italian brand an international success.
Who Attends MYS?
The event attracts yachting professionals from top superyacht brokerages, charter agencies, shipbuilders and yacht enthusiasts. It’s also a magnet to well-heeled clients hoping to make a purchase. Leading figures in the industry attend exhibitions, workshops and conferences and often continue their networking well into the night at exclusive social events. It’s also the perfect opportunity to sample the Principality’s many exclusive restaurants and bars.
