Hot Off the Press: The Hotel Metropole Monte-Carlo Wins Another Award

RobuchonOnly last week we at La Costa Properties Monaco – real estate agents representing the finest Monaco apartments for rent – were extoling the virtues of the Hotel Metropole.

The hotel is one of Monaco’s most luxurious establishments, and has picked up a string of prizes over recent years in recognition of its outstanding services such as the Leading Hotels of the World’s Best Hotel award and the Best Hotel in Europe prize.

And now, it seems the central hotel, situated a stone’s throw from the seafront and some of our premier apartments to rent in Monte Carlo, has impressed even more people.

The hotel was last week named as one of Fodor’s Culinary Gems, and was singled-out for its “world-class cuisine, buzz-worthy design, and magical setting.” The prestigious travel guide also praised the Hotel Metropole for being ‘eco-focused’ and ‘historic’.

The Metropole, whose kitchens are run by world-famous chef Joël  Robuchon, was one of 12 hotels to be named as a Culinary Gem alongside iconic gastronomic restaurants such as Le Manoir Aux Quat’ Saison in Oxford  and Eden Rock in St Barts.

The hotels were selected from 4,000 that had been nominated by Fodor’s 500 global contributors from the 17,000 properties they review annually.

What Fodor said: “Big names like designer Karl Lagerfeld and chef Joël Robuchon help draw guests (some with big names themselves) to this cosseted getaway where Rothschild Renaissance meets contemporary style in the heart of Monte Carlo.

“From the moment you walk through the colossal neo-Roman arch, down the cypress-studded lane, and into the cozy Jacques Garcia-designed lounge, you’re swept into this luxurious getaway. Guest rooms are posh and tastefully decorated in creams and beiges, and the garden has been transformed into an urban oasis.

“In 2013, the Metropole took design to another level with the unveiling of a Karl Lagerfeld-designed pool area, complete with a constellation of lights for the pool floor and a 65-foot-long installation inspired by the Iliad and Odyssey.

“Another main attraction here—especially for those with a healthy respect for creative, top-notch cuisine—is the restaurant: Legendary chef Joël Robuchon crafts menus that vary from season to season but never fail to delight. (Lagerfeld also created a new outdoor space for Robuchon dining.) Guests can choose from a number of chauffeur-driven half-day and full-day trips, and a number of unique activities.”

If you are coming to visit our portfolio of luxury apartments to rent in Monaco and would like to sample the cuisine at this award winning hotel, we do advise you to book to avoid disappointment.
