Monaco is the most expensive real estate market on the planet. According to the latest Real Estate Observatory report, the average price per square metre in 2020 was 47,619 Euros. The district of Larvotto recorded the highest average price per square metre, coming in at 65,000 Euros per square metre in 2020. In comparison, only Hong Kong and New York come close to matching Monaco’s real estate prices, with reports highlighting that real estate in Hong Kong costs an average 44,700 Euros per square metres, and New York’s real estate costs an average 24,300 Euros per square metre. The report, published by the Monegasque Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies, highlights how Monaco’s real estate prices have doubled in the past decade as the principality has established itself as one of the most sought-after destinations in the world.
