Under the intense heat of the Mediterranean sun, the biggest names in the world of motorsports battled it out to clinch the central spot on the podium. Following a practice day on Thursday 25th May on the notoriously treacherous Grand Prix circuit, and various races from GP2 and the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup, the F1 competition began in earnest when participating sportsmen trialled against the clock on Saturday 27th May, competing for pole position. For a tiny Principality which measures just three miles long by one and a half miles wide, Monaco plays host to a number of world-class sporting events. There is of course the famous Monaco Grand Prix, which takes place in the heart of the Principality and not far from some of our most prestigious Monaco property for sale. Additionally, the world’s second smallest state also hosts one of the biggest tennis tournaments in Europe every April at the highly esteemed Monte Carlo Country Club. Monaco recently welcomed another high-profile show to add to its overflowing annual calendar of events. Those lucky enough to own or rent property in Monaco know that there are already a number of great car rallies and races in the Principality, but the new Motor Show takes the prestige to a whole new level. The brand new international car show, Salon International de l’Automobile de Monaco (SIAM), took place from 16th-19th February 2017.
