“La Venus au Phacochère” by Christian Siméon at the Theatre Princesse Grace of Monaco

The Theatre Princesse Grace of Monaco is proud to present “La Venus au Phacochere” (Venus with a Warthog), a comical play with French actress Alexandra Lamy.

theatre princesse grace monaco - la venus au phacochèreIn 1896, founder of the Revue Blanche Thadée Natanson, sets off a severe crisis in his relationship with the beautiful pianist Misia, performed by Alexandra Lamy, because of an article he published called “Of the inferiority of woman”.

Some months later, she meets with the wealthy Alfred Edwards, the warthog-man. Our Venus will be swept in a whirlwind alluding to the thinkers, artists and reknowned figures of the “Belle Epoque”. First and foremost she will have to choose between Thadée and Edwards, between the idealist and the cynical.

This play was written by Christian Siméon, staged by Christophe Lidon and produced by Acte 2 and SIC with le Théâtre de l’Atelier.

The first role is played by famous French actress Alexandra Lamy.
